Damian Harris

Damian Harris is the founder of Skint Records, the Brighton label that became the home of Big Beat. Originally called in to be fired from Loaded Records, he talked his way into running his own imprint instead — and then A&R'd Norman Cook into becoming Fatboy Slim, designing the Fatboy Slim logo along the way. Cook calls him “an absolute linchpin.”

Under his own name he records as Midfield General, and he co-ran the Big Beat Boutique — the Tuesday-night Brighton club that gave the genre its name. His A&R instinct built the Skint roster through the label's defining era before he stepped away to focus on his own music and new ventures.
